Rate limits

Limits are per API key, counted in a fixed one-minute window. Every response carries your current position.

When you exceed it

HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many Requests

Back off and retry once the window rolls. Because the window is fixed rather than sliding, the counter resets on the minute — a burst straddling a boundary can briefly get through more than the limit suggests.

Separate keys, separate budgets

Each key has its own counter. Exhausting a test key does not touch a live one, which makes a dedicated key per environment worth the two clicks.
